Liseta update 8th August 2022
Following her fairly substantial mini refit Liseta was completed to a point so the owners could take her for a trip to the Thames Traditional boat festival at Henley. The new galley and heads looked fabulous prior to her departure. We escorted her out of Southwold harbour and out to sea and waved her off.
After her blast down the coast it was then onto the Thames for a more leisurely pace.
She has now made the trip back to her home mooring at Southwold and the HMS team will complete the outstanding items on the list. It is so wonderful seeing a boat as lovely as this used and enjoyed by the owners.
Liseta update 30th June 2022
The team are super busy on board completing the various works, she has had a new water tank installed and so much work has been done behind the scenes running new pipe work behind existing interior panels, this is always a tricky and time consuming task. The heads is looking really smart with new lighting and beautifully varnished plinths for the basin and toilet.
Liseta update 21st June 2022
There has been a lot of plumbing and pipe work going in over the last few weeks which don’t make for great photos, but she is now starting to take shape. We have lifted her out of the water and have been replacing some holding tanks and in doing so have identified more areas for improvement such as the position of the bilge pump to avoid a constant puddle of water in the bilges.
Liseta update August 2021
Liseta is a 1957 twin screw motor yacht designed by the sailing dinghy designer Guthrie Penman and first registered by Wing Commander Geoffrey ‘Buster’ Briggs. She is made of pitch pine on oak with teak decks and a teak superstructure. She underwent a major refit in 2014 and since then she has been back for regular maintenance at HMS. She made the trip to the Thames Traditional boat festival at Henley and looked very elegant cruising on the Thames. The crew looked splendid in their uniform and we were all very taken with the youngest member of the crew cabin boy Joseph.
Liseta update August 2021
Regular visitors and customers to HMS over the years the owners of Liseta wanted a little revarnish prior to their trip to the Thames traditional boat festival at Henley.
So we obliged although we were hounded by several days of poor weather just at the wrong time! Nigel did a great job and we ordered the sunshine for their departure.
