1938 Herd and Mackenzie Fully Converted Liveaboard MFV
Fully restored between 2013 and 2017, at Harbour Marine Services Ltd., Southwold, “Foresight” is now berthed on her own mooring on the Walberswick side of the River Blyth, enjoying stunning views of both Southwold and Walberswick. The pontoon and walkway were also rebuilt in 2014, including a lockable storage / bike shed.
She is one of the finest, largest and most iconic boats currently moored on the River Blyth and is fully equipped and furnished for living aboard all year. “Foresight” is also on the Historic Ships Register, detailing her past owners, use and locations over the least 80 years.
Decks: Philippe Starck sofa with low level LED lighting. Further LED lights to capping, door entries and aft deck BBQ area. Ensign and Freeview TV aerial to mast, further ensign and pole. Deck wash, with 240v Karcher pressure washer, and LPG cylinder storage cupboards.
Wheel house: Fully insulated and with solar panels to roof. Six-seater dining table with banquette style seating, converting to a double bed. Shoe store, drinks table and storage cupboard with further storage under seating. Bedding to include electric heated double duvet, pillows and cushions.
Saloon: Sotherton oak flooring and seating for seven people, with fold-down double bed. Stunning diesel stove providing heat for all year-round use. Large amounts of storage, 24v Freeview TV/DVD, Roberts DAB radio, Bluetooth speaker and iPhone charger. 12v and 24v lighting.
Breakfast and drinks bar: 240v Tassimo coffee machine, toaster and kettle. Further kettle on solar-panel invertor power. Full size 24v fridge with ice-box. Drinks cupboard and shelf.
Galley: Sotherton oak worktops with inset stainless-steel sink and mixer tap. 240v microwave and LPG 2 burner hob, grill and thermostatically controlled oven. LED lighting. Cupboards with range of glassware, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, fire blanket and fire extinguisher.
Heads: fully electric sea toilet, LED lighting, large mirror, deck hatch, storage cupboards and large fore-locker, stainless-steel wash basin with mixer tap and pressurised water system shower.
Aft cabin: cosy, fully upholstered bed, hotwater bottles, hairdryer and traditional alarm clock! Various lockers and additional storage.
Engine room: fully serviced and renovated with diesel 240v generator, solar powered batteries to assist lighting, toilet, one invertor plug, TV, fridge and alarmed bilge pumps on 12v and 24v circuits. Immersion heater for pressurised hot and cold water system. Large water and diesel tanks.
