Karinda December 2024 update:

With the repairs, paint and varnish completed Karinda was loaded onto transport and taken back to the Thames.

Karinda November 2024 update:

The hull repairs have been completed and she has been painted and varnished and is looking fully refreshed and ready to head back to the Thames.

Karinda October 2024 update:

The hull and cabin sides have been repaired and we are now in the process of painting and finishing..

Karinda August 2024 update:

Five years after her original refit works Karinda unfortunately sustained some damage which has called for a quick pit stop to the Southwold yard. This is also a good opportunity to carry out a few more maintenance jobs.

Karinda August 2021 update:

It was great to see Karinda at the TTBF looking fabulous 2 years after her restoration and improvements at HMS and being enjoyed by her owners, friends and family.

Karinda is a fine example of a 40ft Bates Starcraft, she came to HMS for some fairly extensive improvements to the superstructure and a new aft deck steering position and seating area.

She spent the winter of 2018/19 in the boatshed being worked on. At the end of June 2019 she left HMS and headed back to the Thames (photo 5, 6 & 7) and in July she went to the Thames Traditional Boat Festival and to our delight was awarded The Bates Wheel, (photo 8,9,10 & 11) for the best restoration, maintenance and presentation of a craft built at the bates yard.(photo 12)
