Mero update July 25

With the refreshed varnishing and painting completed Mero made her way by road transport to Henley on Thames for the Thames Traditional Boat Festival. The sun shone and she looked beautiful in this iconic location. After many years enjoyment the current owners have decided to sell her as they are buying a boat which is more suited to their future needs. The varnishing is complete and now the clean up and demasking is in full swing.

Mero has come back to HMS for a refresh of her varnish work and some routine maintenance prior to her summer adventures. She will be visiting the Thames Traditional Boat Festival at Henley. Mero is currently listed for sale on Sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk

Mero update May 22

Yesterday was a momentous day as Mero set sail for the Norfolk broads with the assistance of Mike, this was her first trip out to sea in almost 80 years, she looked beautiful as she motored off the coast of Southwold in the afternoon sunshine.

Mero has come out of the water for some more maintenance.

Mero update September 21

Mero was launched today following her respray and completion of other maintenance works. She looked happy to be back in the water even if the weather has changed from summer to autumn overnight!

Its not always plain sailing with boat building and after an issue with the brush and tip finish of the paint on Mero we decided to take it back and spray it instead, the result was much better, the finished name plate looks beautiful against the new fresh varnish work.

Mero is a wonderful example of a John Bains Silverette she is a regular visitor to HMS for maintenance works and her wonderful owners do an awful lot of the hard work. Here she is in our tent having some varnishing attention.
