Repair & Refit at Harbour Marine Services, brings the challenge to satisfy our clients wishes, to alter and improve their vessels to suit their personal requirements. Much of our work is repair & refit.
Over the years, we have become very adept at designing interior and exterior alterations to suit our clients’ needs without detracting from the often lovely original aesthetic appeal of many older boats.
Whether you require the smallest alteration to your vessel or a complete fit out we are able to assist you in achieving this.
Harbour Marine Services are able to supply bespoke items in A4 stainless steel, aluminium and steel. So whether your vessel requires a new pulpit, pushpit, stanchion, stem fitting, chain plate, radar post, or a new stainless tank we are able to assist.
Due to the level of high end restoration work we carry out we have also become experts in designing and making unusual items and fitments that are not made anymore, if they ever were in the first place!
Our highly skilled laminator is able to carry out anything from a simple colour match and repair to your vessel, to the manufacture of a plug and mould. From this he can create anything from a new engine panel or garage, to a complete wheelhouse. In addition, if new bulkheads or engine bearers are required we will ensure that these will be properly laminated over.
When fitting bow or stern thrusters, it is important that hull strength is maintained. Our laminator will ensure that your vessel is as strong (and in many cases) stronger than it was prior to repair or refit.
Leaking windows are a common and annoying problem that can cause expensive degradation to your vessel’s interior. We are experienced in the removal, (often) re-design, supply and fitment of either new or factory refurbished windows, hatches and portlights.
The electrical and electronics team at Harbour Marine Services are highly experienced and knowledgeable. They are able to carry out a complete re-wire of your vessel, including all design work and on completion a wiring diagram can be supplied for future reference.
Diagnostic work is a large part of this particular skill and due to the depth of knowledge and the use of specialised equipment, Harbour Marine Services are able to swiftly diagnose and repair faults. Our bespoke distribution boards are made in-house to suit each individual vessel and the clients’ requirements.
We are able to supply and fit any electronics system and have expertise in the installation of communications systems, navigation systems and power management.
Our engineering staff are able to diagnose and repair both diesel and petrol engines of all makes and models. We have a fully equipped engineering workshop and this allows us to carry out engine rebuilds and repair onsite. We are also able to supply most makes of engines at competitive prices and provide a full installation service, including design, manufacture of new engine bearers, stern gear, exhaust systems and tank systems. Working with our electricians, we are able to also supply and install generators. We supply and fit propellers from Bruntons, Gori and Darglow and fit as standard Ambassador rope cutters.
